Provo, Utah—Students from Brigham Young University made changes to the iconic Y this morning in solidarity with Brigham Young and students who share his sexual orientation.
Shelly Allred, a nursing student at BYU, wishes one day to become a plural wife. “Polygamists exist!” she says, “And it’s time people start acknowledging that.”
The change comes on the heels of the rainbow lighting of the Y by a group of LGBTQ666+ students. Kyle Jessop, an organizer who helped construct the polygamy sign says, “We wanted to take advantage of this moment to give a voice to those who believe in the Church’s doctrine. Remember, Brigham Young put the Y in polygamy.”
BYU explained in a tweet that the change to Y Mountain was in fact authorized by the university.
So don’t tell me that what we should expect to hear next is that the LGBT community want and expect the the same rights as Polygamists for men to be able to marry multiple men and women to marry multiple woman in the name of Religion “I saw Babylon falling and great was the fall of it”
