U.S.—Utah Senator Mitt Romney was perhaps the loudest voice calling for Donald Trump to release his tax returns. Now that the president’s tax information is available to the public, Romney has turned his attention to Russell M. Nelson, President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
“I’ve released my taxes for public scrutiny, and we shouldn’t expect any less from our own president and prophet, Russell M. Nelson,” said Romney in a tweet to his supporters.
In a second Tweet Romney stated, “Jesus told his disciples to pay taxes to Caesar. Anyone unwilling to make their W-2 public is NOT a true follower of Jesus Christ.”
