This morning The First Presidency issued a statement giving guidance on ward “Trunk or Treat” activities in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. The statement read in part, “Wards are permitted to host Fall or Halloween themed events as local circumstances allow. As always, members are not permitted to wear masks during such events. They may save lives 364 days a year, but on Halloween masks are evil.”
The Church’s General Handbook states that the Church may not sponsor activities that, “involve wearing masks,” 20.6.25.
Church leaders were asked to clarify if the rule applied to other church meetings including weekly worship services, but to date they have not responded.
