Salt Lake City, UT—Popular film review-aggregate website Rotten Tomatoes has just granted the Church’s new Book of Mormon video series an abysmal 0%. “Perhaps the worst reproduction of Book of Mormon stories since your local primary program,” the review goes on to say. Church members are left wondering how an organization with $100 Zillion in the bank could make such a shoddy film.
“With a budget like that I really thought I’d see something more like The Lord of the Rings,” said one Salt Lake resident. “What came out was harder to watch than Willow.”
A new faithful opposition group within the Church has formed petitioning church leaders to redo the film with real sets and real actors. “Stop pulling high priests from the Orem 23rd Ward,” said the movement’s founder. “Is this how we want our children to remember Father Lehi?”
